Mr. Mau is a member of the Presidential Council on Science, Technology and Education; President of the Academy of National Economy; and editor-in-chief of Ekonomicheskaya Politika.

He graduated from Plekhanov Institute of National Economy and holds a Ph.D in Economics. For many years Mr. Mau was engaged in scientific work at the Institute of Economics, the Institute of Economic Policy of the Academy of National Economy and the Institute for Economy in Transition.

Since 1991, Mr. Mau has been involved in the development and implementation of a series of economic reforms in Russia. From 1992-1993 he worked as an advisor to the Russian Prime Minister. From 1997 to 2002 he headed the Working Center for Economic Reform.
