Mr. Auzan graduated from Moscow State University and holds a Ph.D. in Economics and sits on the board of the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the Russian Government.

In the late 1980s, he took part in establishment of consumer protection associations; since 2002 he has been chairman of the Supreme Coordination Council of the International Confederation of Consumers Societies. Mr. Auzan is also a member of the President's Council for Support of Development of the Civil Society Institutions and Human Rights.
